Before address data can be processed, it is frequently necessary to resolve differences between various data sources. One database may have the house number and the street name in a single field. A second database may have this information in two separate fields. Omikron AddressCenter offers a set of helpful utilities to help you unify and standardize your data. These features are available in all versions of AddressCenter.

For example:

Suppose you wish to append a (leased) list of addresses to your main database. In your own database, the company name is contained in one field called "COMPANY". In the leased database, the company name stretches across three (fixed-length) fields: COMPAN1, COMPAN2, and COMPAN3. Normally you would have to create a new COMPANY field and append the contents of all three fields before comparing and merging the data.

Omikron AddressCenter makes this easier: You simply create a new "function field", which automatically combines the three fields for the comparison process.
